Formed in 1988 as a Friendly Bowls club which has now evolved into one of the strongest Bowls Club in the area. We are located in the heart of Stanton village, Near Bury St Edmunds. Our successful Bowls club welcomes all ages and abilities.

We have the outdoor Lawn Bowls season which runs from Mid-April to Mid-September and a Carpet Bowls season which runs for the rest of the year.

The clubhouse is open all year round for its members, associate members and their guests and operates a licensed bar, which is open Wednesday Evenings for club night, during evening matches and on other occasions throughout the year.

Non bowling activities also include Bingo, Quizzes, Race nights and Live music

Some of our club members represent the County, Inter Leagues and Leagues.

Members can play in County competitions, Local Leagues, Local League competitions (under 16, Under 25, men’s, women’s and mixed k/o) and the club also runs its own in house competitions whilst other members play for fun amongst their family & friends.

We are currently honoured to have the current Suffolk Ladies, EBF President elect and also the current Under 25 area champion (Bury and Stowmarket league) for the last 5 years playing for our club.

Our oldest playing member is in his 90’s and the youngest league representative for the club last year was 15.

The standard is wide and varied and new members are always welcomed, remember, we all started as non bowlers at some point. You could win the ‘Non winners’ singles next year and go on to be our first International bowler in years to come!

Coaching sessions can be arranged from our in house level 1 coaches and we have arranged level 2 coaching which our more experienced bowlers also enjoyed.

First Steps ?

If you think you or your wider family (male and female)  would like to try Lawn or carpet bowls, contact us and we will arrange an introduction session just for you. All you need is a pair of flat soled shoes, we will provide the rest!
